**1. General Description**
The CNC-OCL520 X 1700 is a high-performance CNC lathe specifically designed for turning the ends of various types of pipes. It combines the functionality of a general-purpose lathe with advanced CNC control technology. This machine is equipped with a FANUC 0i mate CNC control system and a full-digital AC servo system, ensuring precise and efficient machining operations. **2. Main Components**
**2.1 Machine Base**
The machine base, headstock frame, carriage case, cross slide, and tool post are all constructed from high-strength HT-250 grey cast iron using resin sand casting. These components undergo three stages of aging treatment, including natural aging for over six months, to eliminate internal stress and ensure long-term dimensional stability. The bed ways are treated with supersonic frequency induction hardening and precision grinding, while PTFE anti-abrasion belts are applied to reduce friction and enhance the lifespan of the guide ways.
**2.2 Headstock**
The headstock is driven by a powerful 37 kW AC variable frequency motor, controlled through an AC frequency conversion system. The spindle can operate in nine speed steps, offering a wide range of 6–205 RPM. This ensures flexibility in different machining applications.
**2.3 Feeding Movements**
Both the X-axis (cross feeding) and Z-axis (longitudinal feeding) are driven by independent AC servo motors via synchronous toothed belts and precision ball screw pairs. This allows for smooth and accurate movement at variable speeds. The system uses a semi-closed loop control with encoders for reliable positioning.
**2.4 NC Turret**
This machine is equipped with a 4-station NC turret that offers high precision with a repeatability of 0.005 mm. It provides stable rotation and easy operation, making it suitable for complex machining tasks.
