Bisphenol A-based polycarbonate is the most important type, with a molecular weight ranging from 3 to 10 million.
PC is an amorphous, odorless, non-toxic, highly transparent engineering plastic with outstanding mechanical properties, including excellent impact resistance, tensile strength, flexural strength, and compressive strength. It also exhibits good thermal stability, dimensional stability, flame retardancy, and electrical performance over a wide temperature range. It can operate continuously between -60°C and 120°C.
