Yanhua environmental protection type cumene production technology won

The Yanshan Petrochemicals Chemicals Division has achieved remarkable results in its independent innovation and promotion of clean production. The project “R&D and industrial application of complete sets of cumene clean production technology” jointly completed with Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology was recently awarded the 2005 National Science. The second prize of technological progress, this technology has opened the first clean production technology of China's 100,000-ton petrochemical plant, making China the third country with independent technology for clean production of cumene.

Cumene is an intermediate for the production of phenol acetone. Currently, more than 90% of the world's phenol is produced from cumene. Compared with the traditional process, the new process has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, no corrosion, no pollution and good quality of intermediate product cumene. Yanhua Chemicals Co., Ltd. cooperated with universities to develop new cumene production technology, and successively developed FX-01, YSBH-1, YSé„„BH-2 catalysts, replacing traditional catalysts such as aluminum trichloride and solid phosphoric acid. Under the conditions of the original reactor and without increasing the amount of catalyst, the annual production capacity of cumene of the alkylation unit increased by 57%, and the annual economic benefit was nearly 100 million yuan. The new cumene production technology was put into industrial application, and the environmental pollution and equipment corrosion problems were solved from the source. The Chemicals Division reduced the discharge of sewage by 900,000 tons, and the environmental protection and energy saving effect was remarkable.

The cumene clean production technology has a large scope of promotion and application. At present, the research group of the Yanhua Chemicals Division has developed YSBH-3 and YS鄄BH-4 catalysts with superior performance. The YSBH-4 catalyst was completed in 2005. The catalyst is planned to be completed in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period and put into industrial application.
