Work Steps
1. Feeding: As a standard design, plastic scraps like films, filaments, and raffias are conveyed into the compaction chamber via a belt conveyor. For handling roll scraps, an optional roll hauling device is available. The motor drives for the conveyor belt and hauling device work with an ABB inverter. The feeding speed of the conveyor belt or roll hauling system is fully automatic, adjusting based on how full the compactor's chamber is. A metal detector can be integrated with the conveyor belt and will interlock with the control system to alert and stop the system if metal is detected in the feeding section.

2. Crushing and Compacting: The rotating blades of the compactor cut up incoming scraps. Frictional heating caused by high-speed rotation heats the material just below its melting point, helping it shrink. An optimally designed guide structure compacts the material and directs it into the extruder screw. This process crushes, dries, and compacts the material, enabling fast and stable feeding directly into the extruder.

3. Plasticization and Degassing: A specialized single-screw extruder is used to gently melt the pre-compacted material. The plastic scraps are well melted and plasticized in a 32 to 34D processing section. With a double-zone vacuum degassing system, volatile substances such as low molecular compounds and moisture are efficiently removed, making it particularly suitable for heavy printed films and materials with some moisture content.

4. Melt Filtration: A regular single-plate/piston double-station screen changer or a non-stop double-plate/piston four-station can be installed on the head of the extruder to provide effective filtration performance. The filtration technology requirements depend heavily on the quality of the input material and the intended use of the granules.

5. Pelletizing: Die-face water ring pelletizing system is set as the standard granulation method in the MLsystem. The self-adjusting pelletizing head ensures the best granulate quality and long uptime due to consistent blade pressure. The RPM of the rotating blades is automatically adjusted based on the melt extrusion pressure. Advanced dewatering vibration sieve combined with horizontal-type centrifugal dewatering provides high-performance dried pellets.
