Chicago 3-11 Alarm fore, 11-18-14 (more)

Hi everyone, This message is from Adam Levinson. I just got back from checking out the aftermath of the big fire on Sheffield Avenue yesterday. The scene was something else—everything covered in ice, making it look like a frozen wasteland. Even though the main fire was put out, I saw a few emergency vehicles still there, likely wrapping up their operations or doing some follow-up work. I couldn’t resist taking some photos while I was there. One of them caught my eye—it’s of a car tire that’s completely stuck in a few inches of ice right across from the building where the fire happened. It’s such an unusual sight, especially given how cold it’s been lately. For those interested, here are a few images I snapped: 1. A Chicago FD reserve fire engine standing tall amidst the icy ruins. 2. A towering tower ladder from the FD at the scene. 3. An ambulance parked nearby, ready for anything. 4. The unfortunate car with its tire trapped in the ice. 5. Firefighters bustling around the winter scene. 6. The hauntingly beautiful remains of the building post-fire. 7. Another angle showing the winter-locked destruction. 8. A Chicago FD officer’s vehicle, looking sharp even in these conditions. 9. Battalion 12’s setup, keeping things under control. It’s crazy to think about what happens behind the scenes after such events. These photos really capture the surreal vibe of the situation. Let me know if you want more details or have any questions! Take care, Adam
