The Anhui Provincial Department of Environmental Protection recently announced the annual monitoring report on pollution source monitoring by the state's key monitoring companies in 2014. The annual report shows that of the 369 state-controlled key pollution sources in the province, 45 have exceeded their standards, of which more than half of the key source emissions exceeded the standards. Among the 45 key sources that exceeded the standards, there are 24 key exhaust gas sources. The main pollutants that exceed the standard are soot, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, sulfuric acid mist and fluoride. According to the annual report, Anhui Huaihua Group Co., Ltd. has exceeded the standard for dust and dust for four times, exceeding the standard by 9.4 times. Tongling Fuxin Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and Zhongxing Dongxing Salt Chemicals Co., Ltd. both suffered from excessive smoke and dust for three times. Anhui Xinyuan Thermal Power Co., Ltd., COFCO Biological Chemicals (Anhui) Co., Ltd., Tushan Thermal Power Plant, Huaibei Xinyuan Co., Ltd., Zhongxing Dongxing Salt Chemicals Co., Ltd. and Anhui Samsung Chemicals Co., Ltd. had nitrogen oxides exceeding the standard twice. Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. sulphur dioxide twice exceeded. The remaining sources of excess standards included 6 key wastewater sources, 11 sewage treatment plants, and 4 heavy metal companies.
