Delfast starts a series of power experiments

Delfast Inc., a leading innovator in electric mobility, recently launched a groundbreaking series of power experiments. The initiative kicked off on June 18th with an ambitious test involving the Delfast Top 1.0 electric bike, aiming to pull a Yak-18T aircraft weighing 1.7 tons (3,400 pounds) at Kyiv Chaika Airfield. Although the experiment didn’t go as planned, it proved to be a valuable learning experience for the team. The Top 1.0 is primarily designed for long-distance riding and wasn’t built for such extreme tasks. That explains why the e-bike couldn’t move the aircraft — the safety shutdown system kicked in, preventing any movement. Daniel Tonkopiy, CEO of Delfast, shared his thoughts: “I’m satisfied. We’ve got both positive and negative results. The positive part is that the e-bike does pull the aircraft, even up the hill. The negative one is that it couldn’t budge the aircraft. Electronics shuts the engine off at the start. That’s why our goal is to find that safety-lock, remove it, and come back here, to Chaika Airfield, and try to move Yak-18T again. And perhaps next time we’ll budge Boeing.” This experiment has opened new doors for Delfast. By exploring these possibilities, the company is working toward developing brand-new models tailored for workers who handle heavy loads — from delivery personnel to farmers dealing with over 1 ton of cargo. The event captured the attention of many, especially aviation enthusiasts and industry professionals who saw potential in using such vehicles for practical, work-related purposes.
