Printech printed prepainted steel is a type of steel that has been coated with a special type of paint that allows high-quality printing to be applied onto the surface of the steel. The surface of the steel is first cleaned and treated with a primer to ensure that the paint will adhere properly. Then, a special ink is applied to the surface of the steel using a printing process, which can create a wide range of colors, patterns, and designs. Printech printed prepainted steel is commonly used in a variety of applications, such as building facades, signage, and interior design. The ability to print high-quality graphics and designs directly onto the steel surface allows for highly customized and eye-catching designs. This makes it a popular choice for commercial and industrial buildings, as well as for high-end architectural and interior design projects.
One advantage of Printech printed prepainted steel is its durability. The paint used in the printing process is typically a type of polyester or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) paint, which is resistant to fading, chalking, and peeling. This makes it ideal for outdoor applications and areas with high humidity or exposure to harsh weather conditions.
Another advantage of Printech printed prepainted steel is its versatility. The printing process can create a wide range of colors, patterns, and designs, allowing for highly customized and unique finishes. This makes it an ideal material for a variety of applications, such as building facades, signage, and interior design.
HSMWorks 2015: Delivering World-class CAM to the SolidWorks Community
Today, Autodesk announced the launch of HSMWorks 2015, a comprehensive CAM solution designed specifically for SolidWorks users. This latest version represents the third major update since Autodesk acquired HSMWorks back in October 2012. Over this period, the company has rolled out twelve updates, each introducing hundreds of new features and improvements. These updates have enabled users to transform their designs and assemblies directly into machined components, streamlining the entire design-to-manufacturing process.
According to Robert "Buzz" Kross, Autodesk's senior vice president, "This new release exemplifies our ongoing dedication to our customers, no matter which CAD system they prefer. User feedback has consistently highlighted HSMWorks for its seamless integration, ease of use, and top-tier performance. With this version, we've taken the software a step further by incorporating groundbreaking new features and enhancements."
HSMWorks 2015, compatible with SolidWorks 2015, introduces several key upgrades, particularly a substantial enhancement to Adaptive Clearing, a cutting-edge high-efficiency roughing technology. This upgrade slashes machining cycle times by optimizing toolpath motion to maintain consistent cutter engagement while removing material. Additionally, the revamped Adaptive Roughing feature now supports tapers for helical ramps, improved stay-down linking, and optimized z-level transitions, contributing to faster cycle times and smoother machine operations. The stock simulation has also been upgraded, boasting enhanced performance in 3D mode, which is especially beneficial for customers in the mold and die industries working with large models featuring 3D and sculpted surfaces.

In addition to HSMWorks 2015, Autodesk has released HSMXpress 2015, a free version of HSMWorks offering advanced CAM capabilities exclusively for 2-1/2 axis milling projects. HSMXpress includes all the same 2D milling and drilling functionalities as HSMWorks, along with solid part simulation and post-processing systems.
HSMWorks 2015 also supports the latest Intel Xeon processors and high-performance workstations, such as the HP Z840 Workstation, capable of handling up to 36 processor cores per system. This compatibility ensures that HSMWorks 2015 leverages the most powerful computing hardware available, speeding up toolpath calculations and post-processing times. This capability makes it easier to handle last-minute design modifications and deliver CNC programs to the shop floor more efficiently.
"Everything we do focuses on providing practical tools that enable users to achieve professional-quality outcomes, regardless of their skill level," stated Anthony Graves, Autodesk's CAM product manager. "HSMWorks has always been a customer-driven product, and this release is a perfect example of how user input leads to better software."
Longtime HSMWorks and SolidWorks user Steve Pearson, president and chief engineer at Wills Wing, expressed relief and confidence following the release of HSMWorks 2015. He remarked, "When Autodesk acquired a tool that had become integral to my manufacturing processes, I was concerned about its future. However, with this new version, I feel more certain than ever that Autodesk remains committed to the HSMWorks product and the SolidWorks community."
For pricing and availability, HSMWorks 2015 is available today in English, German, and Japanese, accessible through Autodesk's global network of authorized resellers. Additional language support may be added in future updates. To learn more about HSMWorks 2015 or to download a free trial, visit http://www.hsmworks.com.
