The "Ultraphotometric Absorber H2S Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument" and the "UV-IS UV Spectrophotometry SO2 Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument," developed by Nanhua Research Institute, have successfully passed the technical appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Development Department of the Group. These advanced devices are designed to provide accurate and reliable real-time monitoring of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) concentrations in industrial gas streams.
The "Ultraviolet Luminosity Absorption H2S Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument" addresses the challenge of measuring H2S levels in acid gas entering the Claus furnace within sulfur recovery units. It features a novel pulse-powered circuit and a high-intensity UV source with an auxiliary cathode, ensuring a service life of over three years. A high-temperature measuring cell has been specially designed to prevent condensation of the sample gas, ensuring consistent performance under harsh conditions. The instrument’s single-cell, single-light path design, combined with no moving parts, ensures a simple structure and highly reliable operation. After three years of field testing at Yangzi Petrochemical's Aromatics Plant and Olefins Plant, the device demonstrated excellent accuracy, stability, and ease of use, meeting all requirements for online H2S analysis in industrial processes.
The "UV-IS UV Absorbance Method for SO2 Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument" utilizes a high-intensity UV light source with a lifespan of up to two years. It is controlled via an electric heating program, featuring automatic balancing, zero return, and fault diagnosis functions that ensure long-term stable operation. The single-cell and single-light path configuration simplifies maintenance and enhances reliability. A proprietary three-stage dust sampling system was developed specifically for coal-fired boiler environments, effectively addressing issues related to dust and moisture in gas samples. Field tests conducted at Yangzi Petrochemical's Thermal Power Plant and Nanhua Power Plant confirmed the instrument’s high accuracy, stable performance, and user-friendly operation, making it well-suited for continuous SO2 monitoring in production settings.
