It is reported that Solvay’s 100,000-ton plant will be built in Mata, Thailand, and plans to start production in 2009. Primarily supplies Asian customers with epichlorohydrin for the production of epoxy resins. According to Su Wei’s forecast, China’s annual growth in demand for epichlorohydrin exceeds 20%. Solvay has validated Epicerol's technology at a French production facility using soybean oil to produce biodiesel by-product glycerol.
