West Chicago 3rd Alarm fire 11-4-12
Subject: Update on the Apartment Fire in West Chicago
Hi everyone,
This just in from John Tulipano:
The West Chicago Fire Protection District (WCFPD) received a call around 10:15 AM today regarding a fire at 1212 Kings Court. It was reported to be in a three-story brick apartment building, which is part of a 24-unit structure measuring approximately 50 feet by 125 feet. Unfortunately, when I got there, the fire had already been raging for some time. I’ve managed to snap a few pictures so far, but the rest can be viewed on my SmugMug site.
I’ll paste the link below, as well as include some of the images I’ve taken so far. These were all shot during what turned out to be quite an intense third-alarm fire. The response was impressive, but unfortunately, the damage seems significant.
Here’s a quick summary of the photos:
- **Image 1:** Shows the initial arrival of the WCFPD units responding to the blaze. You can see the flames shooting out of the top floors.
- **Image 2:** A closer look at the firefighters working to contain the fire. Their efforts were relentless despite the heat and smoke.
- **Image 3:** Another angle showing the intensity of the fire as it spread across multiple levels.
- **Image 4:** A different perspective highlighting the structural integrity challenges faced by the firefighters.
- **Image 5:** A dramatic shot of the fire department’s aerial ladder trucks being deployed.
- **Image 6:** One of the final shots I took before leaving the scene, showing the firefighters still hard at work even as the fire began to subside.
For more detailed images, check out my SmugMug page where I’ve uploaded additional photos. If you want to stay updated with the latest developments, the Daily Herald also posted a few photos that you can view [here](#).
Please keep the residents and first responders in your thoughts—they’ve had a long and challenging day.
Best,
[Your Name]
