Working fire in West Chicago, 5-19-24
This is a report from Daniel Hynd regarding an incident involving the West Chicago Fire Protection District:
Yesterday, May 19th, 2024, the West Chicago FPD responded to a structure fire at 116 Main Street. The initial call was for an alarm of fire, but upon arrival, Battalion Chief 6 observed heavy smoke coming from the roof. Upon further investigation, firefighters discovered flames in the cockloft area. Crews quickly engaged the fire using hand lines and also utilized Wheaton's elevated platform to bring the situation under control.
