Chicago Still & Box Alarm fire, 1-10-14

This morning, I came across some photos taken by Josh Boyajian that captured the scene of a fire at 1039 N. Laurel. It looked like quite the intense situation. As a Still & Box Alarm fire, it definitely had all the makings of a challenging incident for the Chicago firefighters who responded. I’ve included several images below to give you an idea of what the scene was like. The first photo gives a good view of the firefighters hard at work battling the blaze during what seemed to be a particularly cold day. You can really see the dedication and focus on their faces as they tackle the flames. The other images provide different angles of the same fire, showing just how widespread the damage was. It’s clear from these shots that the firefighters were working under difficult conditions, but they remained committed to getting the situation under control. It’s always impressive to see how quickly emergency services can mobilize and handle such situations. Kudos to everyone involved for their efforts in managing this fire safely and efficiently. ---
