Nationwide Boiler Participates in Annual Pathway Conference with Student Tours of Facility

Earlier this month, Nationwide Boiler Inc. welcomed a group of high school students to their Controls Division, Nationwide Control Solutions, located in Washougal, Washington. The visit was part of a broader initiative organized by Washougal High School as part of their Annual Pathway Conference. This event is designed to expose students in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program to potential career paths in local industries, providing them with insights into post-graduation opportunities. The CTE program aims to boost graduation rates and prepare students for real-world work environments by connecting classroom learning with practical skills.

Jack Valentine, the General Manager at Nationwide, expressed enthusiasm about participating in the conference. “It’s crucial that we educate today’s youth about the diverse and rewarding career options available through skilled trades, especially within the boiler industry. Many of these careers offer excellent pay and job security, yet they often go unnoticed by young people. We’re committed to spreading awareness and helping students understand how fulfilling these roles can be,” he said. The tour kicked off with an overview of Nationwide Boiler Inc.’s extensive product lineup, which includes temporary rental boilers, new and used boiler sales, emissions control solutions, and, most notably, combustion control systems and fuel supply skids. Afterward, the students ventured into the panel shop where they witnessed various stages of production, from electrical wiring to assembly and testing of new equipment. Among the impressive array of machinery and components on display were a newly constructed motor control center (MCC) panel destined for a rental boiler, a urea supply skid for a CataStak™ SCR system, multiple Eagle combustion control panels, and several fuel supply skids. To wrap up the tour, participants received some branded merchandise as a keepsake, along with valuable knowledge about control systems and the boiler industry.
