Nationwide Boiler Participates in Annual Pathway Conference with Student Tours of Facility

This past month, Nationwide Boiler Inc. welcomed students from Washougal High School to tour their Controls Division, Nationwide Control Solutions, located in Washougal, Washington. As part of a larger initiative organized by Washougal High School, this event aimed to expose students to potential career paths through their Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. This tour was just one of several stops during the Annual Pathway Conference, which gives students hands-on experience and insights into industries like ours. The goal is to prepare students for life after high school by connecting classroom learning with real-world applications, thereby increasing graduation rates and ensuring they’re ready for the workforce.

I was thrilled to be involved in this event,” said Jack Valentine, Nationwide’s General Manager. “It’s crucial that young people understand the diverse range of high-skilled, high-demand, and well-paying jobs available through trades. The boiler industry, in particular, offers exciting opportunities, and we want to make sure students know what’s out there.”

The tours kicked off with an overview of Nationwide Boiler’s extensive product line, including temporary rental boilers, new and used boiler sales, emissions control solutions, and the main highlight—combustion control systems and fuel supply skids. Afterward, students got a close look at the panel shop, witnessing the intricate process of electrical wiring, factory acceptance testing, and the fabrication of new equipment. Among the projects visible on the shop floor were a brand-new motor control center (MCC) panel destined for a rental boiler, a urea supply skid for a CataStak™ SCR system, several Eagle combustion control panels, and multiple fuel supply skids. To cap off the visit, students left with a collection of promotional items alongside a newfound appreciation for control systems and the boiler industry.
