Sangamon and found a fire in a two-and-a-half-story frame structure. They made entry into the building while Truck Co. 20 handled ventilation and search operations. No victims were found, but the fire did spread slightly to the adjacent structure at 7117 S. Sangamon, which was also a two-and-a-half-story frame. The hydrant operator for Engine 54 discovered a frozen hydrant, prompting the chief to request a Still & Box alarm. Once water was secured, crews quickly knocked down the fire. Fire companies were dispatched to a still alarm at 7115 S. Sangamon on Friday around 7:00 PM. While en route, Engine 54 reported seeing the fire and confirmed that there was indeed a working fire. Upon arrival, Engine 54 quickly contained the fire, which was showing heavy flames and had started to threaten the exposure in Sector 4. Here are some of my photos from the scene.
