At present, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has 13 automobile manufacturers, including one passenger car manufacturer and 12 commercial vehicle manufacturers with an annual production capacity of 106,400 vehicles. The "planning" also proposes that Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will implement the strategic layout of "one country, two regions and three bases." It will focus on building an innovation center and integrated manufacturing center for new energy vehicles centered on Urumqi; strive to develop the Urumqi and Kashgar regions into new energy vehicle assembly and production bases and export to the west; build northern Xinjiang, southern Xinjiang and eastern Xinjiang. According to the "Planning", by 2020, the production capacity of new energy vehicles will reach 30,000 or more and the battery production capacity will reach 5 GWh. The overall proportion of new energy vehicles in the automotive industry has reached more than 30%, of which, the proportion of new energy vehicles in the production of urban bus vehicles has reached 100%; the proportion of new energy vehicles for the manufacture of commercial vehicles and modified cars has reached more than 30%; electric vehicles have been used The car achieved zero breakthrough and formed mass production capacity.
