Caterpillar's emerging market executives said that Caterpillar will reduce its production capacity in Japan and increase its production capacity in China as its ability to manufacture complex components continues to increase.
About 40 percent of Caterpillar's excavator factories in China are imported from Japan, but it is planned to reduce this proportion by at least a quarter within five years.
