Mitsubishi will reorganize China sales office to be located in Beijing

According to a recent report by the *Wall Street Journal*, Mitsubishi Motors has announced a major restructuring of its sales operations in China, aiming to boost its performance in one of the world's most competitive automotive markets. By the end of March 2005, the company plans to consolidate its seven separate sales offices across the country into a single, centralized hub located in Beijing. This move is expected to streamline operations and enhance efficiency as Mitsubishi looks to strengthen its presence in China. The report highlights that China is considered a key strategic market for Mitsubishi Corporation, where long-term growth and sustainability are central to the company’s global strategy. The reorganization was first disclosed in May, alongside other significant changes, including the closure of one of its three domestic manufacturing plants, the reduction of 10,000 jobs, and seeking financial support from both the Mitsubishi Group and external investors. In addition to these internal adjustments, Mitsubishi is also exploring new export opportunities. Due to the low production efficiency at its Australian facilities, the company is looking into the possibility of exporting vehicles from Australia to countries such as India, where cars are driven on the right side. This aligns with the company’s broader efforts to optimize its global supply chain and adapt to regional market demands. Mitsubishi’s ongoing restructuring reflects its commitment to remaining competitive in an evolving automotive landscape, while also addressing challenges in different regions around the world.
