A few days ago, news came from Hangzhou Kuaikai High-efficiency Energy-saving New Technology Co., Ltd. The key technology research and development project undertaken by the company for CO2 compression and purification passed the acceptance review. The research results of this project provide a theoretical basis for the implementation of CO2 compression and purification projects for 200 MW oxygen-enriched combustion coal-fired power plants. A single unit can capture more than 1 million tons of CO2 per year. The carbon dioxide compression and purification test system can realize integrated desulfurization and denitrification at the same time as carbon dioxide capture, and converts the removed SO2 and NOX into sulfuric acid and nitric acid. This system is currently the first domestic oxy-fuel combustion carbon capture CO2 compression and purification full-flow pilot test system, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level. It is understood that this project is a technological innovation project of Shenhua Group. In June last year, Hangzhou Kuaikai Company won the bid for research and development. The technical route is that after the flue gas is compressed, dried and cooled, the concentrated SO2 and NO2 components are obtained from the tower kettle through the low-temperature scrubber, and the purified CO2 and low-boiling N2, O2 components are obtained at the top of the tower and condensed and liquefied. After distillation and purification, more than 99.9% of the liquid carbon dioxide can be obtained; the concentrated SO2 and NO2 components adopt an improved tower-type purification process and can obtain 75% of sulfuric acid and 15% of nitric acid by-product, respectively.
