Weichai National Key Laboratory Organizes Engine Reliability Seminar

Reliability of Internal Combustion Engine: Reliability is the biggest bottleneck restricting the development of internal combustion engine technology in China. What is the future of reliability and technological innovation of internal combustion engine?

Recently, the 5th International Symposium on Reliability Technology of Internal Combustion Engines was held in Beijing. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars gathered together to discuss the reliability of the internal combustion engine.

Reliability is a manifestation of the core competitiveness of the internal combustion engine. It is related to the implementation of national energy-saving emission reduction guidelines and policies, and relates to the safety and interests of consumers. Continuously improving the reliability of the internal combustion engine is the basic connotation of the sustainable development of the automobile and internal combustion engine industries, and is also an important mission for China to realize the power of the automobile.

The seminar was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Reliability of Weichai Diesel Engines, co-organized by the Automobile Engine Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Multi-cylinder Diesel Engine Sub-branch of the Chinese Engine Industry Association, and the International Technical Innovation Alliance for Reliability of Internal Combustion Engines.

The seminar focused on the reliability of the internal combustion engine and the future and development of technological innovation.

At the same time, they are from MIT, State Key Laboratory of Tribology, State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Combustion, National Key Science and Technology Laboratory of Reliability and Environmental Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Reliability of Internal Combustion Engines, German FEV, Southwest Research Institute of the United States, Major national laboratories, research institutes and representative companies in the industry such as China FAW Group have made special academic reports on the reliability technology and application of internal combustion engines.

As the director unit of the Internal Combustion Engine Association, Weichai has actively responded to the exploration of the reliability technology of internal combustion engines, set a good example for the physical and behavioral industries, and has done a lot of work in the development of reliability technologies.

For example, durability, key component reliability studies were successively carried out, and mechanical fatigue and valve head thermal fatigue test methods such as airframes, crankshafts, and connecting rods were established to simulate fatigue tests; reliability studies of key materials, and adaptation to high mechanical loads, Heat load materials lightweight research; machine application matching reliability studies, road load spectrum analysis, and "three high" environmental adaptability studies.

In recent years, with the joint efforts of the industry at home and abroad, the research and application of reliability technology for internal combustion engines have made significant achievements. The “International Reliability of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability”, consisting of Weichai Power and MIT, University of Wisconsin, and Tsinghua University, consists of 18 domestic and foreign famous universities, institutions, and companies. It is based on reliability basic theory research, friction and wear, and material failure. Major achievements have been made in key areas such as analysis.

On April 27, Weichai held a press conference for the State Key Laboratory of Reliability of Internal Combustion Engines. The establishment of this laboratory will provide a broad cooperation platform for improving the industry as a whole.

Since 2011, the International Symposium on the Reliability of Internal Combustion Engines has been held for five consecutive sessions. Each seminar has gathered experts, organizations, and organizations at home and abroad who have made remarkable achievements in the field of reliability research. It is a reliable technology for the internal combustion engine industry in China. Innovation and development have played an active role in promoting.

This year, with the establishment of the State Key Laboratory for Weichi Diesel Engine Reliability, reliability-related platforms such as reliability alliances and related academic conferences have been further integrated to form a new platform that is more open to sharing and more conducive to innovation and cooperation.
