What is the difference between PetroChina and Sinopec? Can it be mixed?

PetroChina and Sinopec are currently two large state-owned enterprises in the domestic energy and oil products market. Drivers who often drive or run long distances may have encountered the following experience: We have been adding a brand of oil locally and we have been driving Off-site but found that most of them are gas stations of another brand, or have been fixed with a certain brand of oil, one day suddenly found that the fuel tank is nearing the bottom, but there is only another brand of gas station nearby. ··· At this time, many friends will have doubts: In the end there is no difference between PetroChina and Sinopec's oil products? Can it be mixed? Here we come to say one by one:

Is there any difference between PetroChina and Sinopec's oil products?

PetroChina’s full name is China National Petroleum Corporation. Sinopec’s full name is China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation. PetroChina and Sinopec are basically North and South. It can be said that PetroChina's site is mainly in the northern region of China, and Sinopec's site is mainly in the South. (Sinopec also began to go northward these years, and CNPC is also continuously infiltrating south.) As we all know, Chinese oil fields such as Daqing, Liaohe, Shengli, Central Plains, Changqing, and Karamay are all located in the north, while the oil fields in the south are rarely distributed. Therefore, CNPC’s oilfields are dominated by Sinopec’s oil refineries.

PetroChina's refinery mainly uses "domestic" crude oil for refining the northern oil fields, while Sinopec's refineries mainly rely on refining imported crude oil. Although we all use almost the same process, there is a difference in additives. Sinopec uses currently the world's better additives (more expensive to import). From the aspect of oil density, PetroChina’s gasoline density is basically around 0.72-0.73, Sinopec’s oil density is basically around 0.75-0.77, which means that PetroChina can add about 30 liters more to Sinopec than to PetroChina. The person concerned can earn more money, but for the consumer, the oil actually added to the fuel tank will be less quality, that is to say less energy. It may be a bit more costly to use a low density oil product.

In summary, due to differences in crude oil and additives for refining, PetroChina and Sinopec's oil products do have differences. However, due to the country's stringent standards and specifications for oil products, both oils are of similar quality. PetroChina’s oil density is slightly lower than that of Sinopec, which results in PetroChina’s production of slightly more expensive oil than Sinopec’s.

Can PetroChina and Sinopec oil mix?

I believe that such problems have plagued many drivers and friends. In fact, occasionally adding fuel once does not have much impact on vehicles. All kinds of oil products have national standards. Whether PetroChina or Sinopec, oil products are produced according to the same specifications. Meet the national standards before leaving the factory. However, it is recommended that you try not to mix together as often as you can. It is better to add a brand of oil. Because after all the two crude oils are not the same, the processing process is also different. Frequent mixing may cause the engine to experience slight jitters and carbon deposition and other unpleasant symptoms. Therefore, don't mix it often when it is absolutely necessary.
